Vicki DeRooy was born in Everett Washington and raised in Wenatchee, where she attended Wenatchee High School and then Wenatchee Valley College.  She received her MA at Central Washington University, where she studied visual arts, with a focus on oil painting and drawing. Vicki now lives in Wenatchee and

has taught art at Wenatchee Valley College

for twenty-one years.  

 

In the last few years Vicki has been working with colored pencil on black paper. Her work

is representational or figurative, often playing with interior spaces, while paying close attention to shadows, patterns, color and texture.
