Rob Blackaby

Rob Blackaby is a multi-discipline fine artist with a professional background in commercial and fine art since 1979. His hometown of Chelan, Washington provides much of his subject matter and the rest comes from all over the Pacific Northwest. Rob paints with oils  in a semi-impressionistic style. Landscapes dominate his work but he also paints still life and figurative works. Rob also paints both interior and exterior wall murals, eleven of which were painted for the Lake Chelan Murals Program.

Rob studied commercial art and graphic design at the Colorado Institute of Art, in Denver. While living there, he was employed as a technical illustrator at Martin Marietta Aeronautics.  Some of the resulting work won awards, including a trip to see a space shuttle launch (one of those paintings now hangs in the Pentagon). He has exhibited his work in Galleries and solo shows since 1982 and began teaching students privately in 1990. His paintings are now in corporate and private collections across the United States.
