LeAnne Ries lives in her hometown of Yakima with her husband, youngest son, and a very spunky dog. She previously lived in the San Fransicso bay area where she earned a MA in psychology. Since returning home thirteen years ago, LeAnne has enjoyed being part of the Yakima art community. She uses paint, collage and sand to create texture in her work which most often represent the figure. One such subject that she enjoys painting are chairs, which are suggestive of the human form. Chairs can be pompous, welcoming, or even haunting. LeAnne believes that there are endless possibilities and chair paintings for everyone.
