Following a move to Selah with her husband in 1956, Delma Tayer went back to school. She completes a BA and MA English and an MFA in Art. In 1963 she began teaching at Yakima Valley College where she taught English, Art History, and Humanities for the next twenty years. Delma served as Dean of Arts and Sciences and gallery director until her retirement in 1990. Since retirement, she has worked professionally as a full-time artist in her studio in Selah. Delma continues to exhibit her work and has received recognition and honors too numerous to mention.
