Fine Art & Craft Show
In 1983, Jeannie took an oil painting class along with her mother. She struggled but kept trying anyway and discovered a passion that grew from a lifelong interest in art. A couple of years later someone asked her to teach their daughter how to paint with. After a few months of teaching, she put an ad in the paper and started teaching classes. She began with ten students. This grew to over forty-five regular students in nine different classes.
Jeannie is primarily self-taught although she has studied under many different teachers over the years and takes classes whenever there is opportunity. She enjoys working in many different mediums. Lately she has been developing a series called “The Heavens Declare.” It is based on Psalm 19 and Hubble Station photos. She paints each week with a group of fellow artists named Colorworks. They continue to inspire her to try new things and stretch herself creatively.
Many people all across the United States enjoy her work through private and corporate collections. Jeannie's work has been shown in several galleries. She is currently represented by Two Rivers Gallery, in Wenatchee, WA. Her work was chosen for the Kittitas County Fair Poster in 2011, 2012, and 2016. Jeannie works from her private studio and in nature, en plein aire. Most of her original paintings are available as reproductions and cards.
